I had created Au-Steer several years ago after seeing this muddied, black cow in a deep, snow covered pasture above Quemahoning Dam. The morning was cold with an intensely, bright blue sky but I didn’t like how that translated onto my canvas. After the current, past week of snow storms, I was inspired to give this hereford a “make-over!” So much happier with the result.
