On a recent visit to Sarasota Jungle Gardens in Sarasota, Florida I was excited to see several male peacocks. His incredible feathers inspired me to create this piece using a similar technique Native Americans from the Southwest used to attach feathers to headdresses so it looked as if the feathers were floating on air behind the wearer. Not quite as successful here, yet the small painted feathers and beads attached to the wire add an interesting 3rd dimension. The black feather I painted came from Alchemie, an inspiring little Speakeasy tucked into a corner of Cambria City in Johnstown.
