Visited Sarasota Jungle Gardens in Sarasota, Florida earlier this summer and was inspired by all the creatures but mostly the incredible colors on the macaws. In doing some research I discovered these are called Calabria Macaws and are actually hybrids. I happily placed this one back in the jungle and added vintage Japanese papers as extra leaves and metallic dots to represent my favorite little fireflies that appear in “my jungle” aka backyard in June.
